San Francisco, California -October 15, 2007 - Immedium proudly announces the publication of The Octonauts and the Sea of Shade, written and illustrated by the popular design team known as Meomi. The Octonauts are cute undersea explorers in search of adventure and fun! From their base "the Octopod", these eight animals are always ready to embark on a new exciting voyage.
In their second episode, the Octonauts realize all their shadows in the ocean are missing! Where have they gone? Professor Inking tells the crew that they must travel to the distant Sea of Shade to discover the reason why. Along the way our brave heroes must cross deep caves and the aptly named Darke Woods!
When they finally arrive at their exotic destination, can the Octonauts convince the proud Shade King to return everyone's shadows? These intrepid friends do have a way of saving the day, you know!
Combining the instant appeal of Hello Kitty with the intrepid spirit from Star Trek, the delightfully entertaining Octonauts will instantly appeal to children, and their sophisticated design and subversive humor will attract appreciative adults. Lushly layered and brightly colored illustrations create a teeming undersea universe that will dazzle readers' eyes, excite their imaginations, and tickle their funny bones.
Called "charming and beautifully-designed" by comics scholar Scott McCloud, Meomi's winsome cast of characters have attracted an international audience, from kids and their parents to digital artists and fashion designers. What is their next mission? Stay tuned for the next Octonauts adventure book to find out!
